Art should make people conscious of unconscious things that may remain unconscious even consciously. The objctive of my art is some sort of status report. It is the current representation of states experienced as a necessity. Everything that happens to me and makes me percieve.
Nowadays art and culture is not treated at its place value; it is a medium despised and marginalized by admirers of classic art. Consequently we are building our own sub-culture with contemporary art, as apart from us nobody is interested in what we create under art. This scepsis, however, not the exclusive privilege of digi-world; art and culture have always been a matter of the few.
The irrational reality my artwork present I wish to raise unconscious interest in areas of the modern art. I offer a sort of ‘literacy' to the recipient with a degree of interactivity that expects the spectators be active: it will not let them become absorbed passively in the view, but will force them think.
In order to be able to create real excitement in the plane, I also need the negative counterpart of excitement, that is, silence. It can be as slight as one can imagine: sometimes it is so slight that it appears to be excitement.
The information I employ in my art is not meant to be easily apprehended. It is the recipient's task to create new dimensions with the given elements. These dimensions can vary depending on the recipients.
The symbols of my art come from the street. There is no conceptual consistency in the street because everything is changing and the digital technology enables me to map this flexibility. Digitech creates mobility and releases kynetic energy and this energy and information is circulating faster and faster. This technology plays a significant part in the communication and recording of my art.
The process of my artwork is a "war" of ideas, it is a constant and unsolvable conflict within me, during which layers appear and disappear on my canvas representing different atmospheres. Creation is not a linear process, instead a mixture of signs, symbols and atmospheres unbound of time.
I exclude and discard the surface, the didactic elements of the consumer society from the monotonous urban background noise, and through further analysis of the visual details of the mapped reality I put the emphasis on the basic symbols which are characterized by simultaneity and malleability.
It is a question of time whether my work will be accepted as ART or it will be thrown back to its place of birth – to the streets – as junk. |
