André Demers is a 35 years old painter from Montreal, Canada. He started painting seriously at the age of 22, after having completed his studies in interiour design, he realized quickly that he needed way more freedom to express himself, he then got into a fine art school where he completed successfully his degree. Demers influences are various, the surrealist movement and the constructivism but it's with the Optical Art and also the Pop Art that he is mostly associated, that's why he calls his work Pop-Op Art. Using a unique technique he creates rich, an vibrant paintings filled with joyfull colours and intelligence.
